Working Principle

The filter basket is fixed inside the main housing and is stationary. The process fluid flows into the filter basket through the inlet on the top cover. The filtered liquid flows out through the outlet provided at the bottom part of the housing.

Suspended particles in the liquid are retained within the filter basket and forced downwards by the rotational movement of the brush assemblies. The brush assemblies are mounted on a central rotating shaft and are so dimensioned such that they continuously sweep the internal surface of the filter basket. This maintains the surface always clean and also ensures downward movement of the particles.

The particulate concentration or sludge collects in the bottom cone and is periodically cleaned out by way of drain nozzle. The bottom cone can be easily swung open for inspection and also provide access to the brush assemblies. A flushing connection is provided for cleaning in place.

For high viscosity products and for easy CIP cleaning, the unit can be provided with scraper or screw.
